Strawberry Alert

Winnie from Robbinsdale...

"Thank goodness I ALWAYS washed my strawberries and took off the tops.
Learned from my mother--who also washed every lettuce leaf!
Okay, I watched it. Yuck!
I didn't know about this and have even eaten them right out of the sack.
Guess I won't do that anymore."

Here are a couple quick and easy ways to enjoy strawberries…yummy, too!

  • Dip strawberries in sour cream followed by brown sugar.
  • Toss halved strawberries with brown sugar and a bit of cardamom. Roast in a buttered pan at 400 degrees until soft and somewhat darker, about 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla-bean ice cream.

A strawberry pie recipe with a past...a favorite of four generations. Easy too!

It's super easy

Because it's blended, your body can more easily pull the nutrients out of everything...less work required to break down the foods.

1/2 c fresh/frozen blueberries
1/2 fresh/frozen banana
1/2 c fresh/frozen strawberries
Handful baby spinach (I promise, you don't taste it!)
2 tbsp finely ground flax seed
Protein powder of choice (we like Jay Robb vanilla whey)

All ingredients in a blender…add skim milk or water to desired consistency.
