In the “70s” there were many unusual trends…but, interest in cooking and wonderful recipes was certainly flourishing! Purchasing skewers and barbecuing meat and vegetables was a sure fire way to entertain. This marinade was found on the back of a skewer carton…it’s the best I’ve ever had. It’s a meal in itself with fruit, vegetables and meat…experiment and enjoy!
The meats include beef, chicken and shrimp. Vegetables I’ve tried are: mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, previously cooked potatoes and pearl onions, zucchini, yellow squash, artichokes, sweet peppers, and hot peppers. The only fruit I’ve tried is pineapple.
Because of the different timings of the meat, I string similar meat on the same skewers. This is to keep the raw chicken apart from the rest. It’s fun to have the family help string the skewers and barbecue! Very interactive meal!
