Garlic has been dubbed the "stinking rose". The herb contains many powerful sulfer containing compounds...more than 80. These compounds are what give garlic its smell, taste and health benefits.
Plant your own garlic.
Place a clove in an upright position, one inch below the surface of the soil.
Plant cloves 4 inches apart. Add a generous amount of sunlight and water.
Harvest the garlic when the leaves of the plant turn slightly brownish.
Best to clean off the dirt just before use.
I love this recipe for easy addition to garlic to recipes. It keeps up to one month in the refrigerator or freeze in small amounts. It is very concentrated so use about a tablespoon for a dish that is to serve four.
