Mardi Gras is the party of all parties…you can have one of your own, while celebrating a friend’s birthday any time of the year…
Substitute the celebrant’s name (Meredith in this case), and come up with Merdi Gras!
Decorations as you come to the party are always fun. (tape says, Caution flying beads!)
Grab a mask or crown on the way in.
Check out the poster that names 10 ways to earn beads…
what’s your favorite memory of Meredith…, tell a funny story about Mer…, do a funny dance move… etc…
Food includes favorites from the South and the drinks of choice are Hurricanes and a Mardi Gras Madness punch.
(Recipes are found in various spots on the web.)
For dessert enjoy jello shots in the traditional colors of green, yellow and purple.
To carry on their parent’s pot-luck idea…
Gen x and y-ers have a monthly dinner party and this month each couple brings a favorite
“family” recipe.
Meredith brought this dessert favorite from her grandma with her own shortcuts.
(premade oreo pie crust, premade fudge, reduced fat ice cream, cool whip and crushed oreos on top)
Check out this recipe and try a variation of your own.
Mae’s Ice Cream Pie
Next month the idea for the pot luck is a Pizza Bake-off! Invites are sent out from www.evite.com. Bring your own pizza…gourmet, dessert or mini masterpiece.
Bring your own beer to compliment your creative/extraordinary pizza.
What’s next month, kids?!
Because...together...
we love to create, collaborate and celebrate!

Clear your calendar for an afternoon of beautiful country side, a simple picnic lunch and wine tasting in the vineyards of Minnesota. Yes, Minnesota! You wonʼt find the typical California varieties but you will be pleasantly surprised with the elegance of the Frontenac, St. Pepin, and Marechal grapes.
We started the afternoon at Alexis Bailly Vineyard, family owned since 1978. They produce a variety of table and dessert wines from 100% Minnesota grown grapes. David Bailly learned winemaking from the French who believed the grapes must be stressed by the elements, “where the grapes can suffer”. Minnesota winters can easily provide the elements needed.
After sampling every wine in the tasting room, we made a few purchases and retreated to the rustic, covered porch. A great setting for a picnic. We brought all the necessary equipment: a tablecloth, plates, utensils, napkins, wine glasses and simple tasty food.
All the vineyards welcome visitors. Check the schedules for tasting room hours, concerts, and
special events.
